I would highly recommend taking a walking tour of Paris to everyone new to the city, or just passing through during their travels.
I was in Paris in August with my family and took them on walking tour with Aeon Tours. It was fabulous. Our tour took us through all of the major attractions in Paris, but the real star of our tour was our guide. She showed us places in Paris that I am sure we wouldn't have been able to see without a local's insight. I would strongly recommend them! (http://www.aeontours.com)
