This charming detached "Maison de Maitre" sits on the hill above the pretty small town of St Savin (30 minutes from Poitiers) which includes a church with ceiling frescoes that are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The property has been lived in until recently but really needs renovating throughout, especially the upper floors.

On the ground floor is an entrance hall, a fitted, but rather basic, kitchen (12m2), a living room (18m2) with marble fireplace and cupboards, and on the other side of the entrance hall are two rooms to renovate (12 and 17m2). The larger room has a wooden floor while the smaller has a concrete floor and a rather impressive stone fireplace. Also on this floor is a shower room with wc, and access to the two cellar rooms, one of which houses the new boiler for the central heating. On the first floor, is another "front door" which you can access via a footbridge at street level. There are four bedrooms around a landing, all with lovely wooden floors, but which all need re-decorating. Two of these rooms (11 and 18m2) are inter-connecting and one of these has a marble fire-place and built-in cupboard. The other two rooms (12 and 18m2) lead off the landing and one of these also has a marble fireplace. On the second floor, the rooms all need renovating. There are four "bedrooms" (one of 14m2 and the other three are all 16m2), two of which have marble fireplaces. Also on this floor is a small room of 4m2 which has access to the attic. The house sits in the middle of 1,500m2 of garden which includes a pretty detached barn (60m2 at floor level) on two levels. This is certainly a pretty property that has, unfortunately with ageing owners, has been let go a little over the past few years.
