We are an NGO stationed in Brussels, Belgium and are having several problems with our computers. For anyone who might be able to help us with them, please give us a call at 0032 2 241 4990. Ideally we would like to find a computer student who can help on a regular basis, and who can help us to construct a website and other multimedia projects, as a part of their curriculum and/or internship. However, if you do not fit that criteria and still think you know the answers to the problems mentioned below, please, by all means, contact us.

The first concerns Mozilla Thunderbird. We’re attempting to set up a synchronized network between several computers, allowing the people on each computer to modify the email account and have their changes instantly replicated on all other computers. While there is a network currently in place, it does not work properly. When a message is deleted from one computer, for instance, it isn’t deleted from the others. We aren’t sure whether this is a software issue or a hardware issue, so anyone who thinks they might have some idea, please give us a call.

The second deals with our printers. The connection between our computers and our printers are extremely slow, and we’re looking for someone who can come take a look and see if they can identify and solve the problem.

The third has to do with uploading pictures and video to the internet. Every time we have tried to upload recently, the internet connection has “timed out”. It does this every time, and we don’t know what to do about it. Please contact us if you have some idea.

Computer technician with versatile skills wanted for ongoing part time assistance (regular weekly or biweekly perhaps). Someone who can help a large private household in Brussels with several computers (we do non-profit work, and communicate a lot).

Need help to handle hardware, software, local network, database and website issues in our home: Local area network of up to six computers, Thunderbird e-mail, Iris database, some web pages to update and maintain.
