...Situated on the outskirts of Carcassonne, ‘au bord du Canal du Midi’ and featured in TV chef Rick Steins' recent 'French Odyssey' of the Canal du Midi, (episode 7) this is a farmhouse with many options...

Due to its superb location on a wine domaine/estate dating back to the 12th Century, by this famously picturesque canal, we presently run the farmhouse as a little business, using the separate self-catering 2 bedroom cottage as a holiday gite...very popular for it's unique location on the banks of the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

2 x fully fitted modern kitchens, with new appliances
3 x bathrooms

There's a terrace situated directly outside the house.
Patio on the banks of the canal, facing the farmhouse.

All rooms are a good size and the house has been recently refurbished to a high standard.
The overall size of the farmhouse is in excess of 200 sq metres.

There is also a large garden (1000 sq mtrs) offering various possibilities, with a potager and shaded pergola, overlooked by the beautiful Alaric Mountains.

During the summer months we also offer B/B or Chambres d’Hote’s from the larger part of the house, where we also live...being situated on the canal there's alot of passing trade along the canal towpath directly opposite the farmhouse with people cycling, rowing and walking the length this 245 kms canal.


We've secured an official mooring for a boat just outside the house.

Thankfully not under a flight path or on a main road, we're just 20 minutes drive from Carcassonne Airport, with regular cheap flights from Stansted several times daily...courtesy of 'Ryanair'.

We're only a few kms from the famous medieval 'La Cite' and Carcassonne Plage, all located in the heart of 'Cathar country'.

There is a possibility to buy some of the furniture with the house, especially in the attached holiday cottage and since we won't be selling through an agent it will save you around 8% on fees.
