About Psychotherapy and Counselling:
There are many reasons why counselling or psychotherapy can be helpful. These might include specific problems, making decisions, coping with a crisis, developing personal insight, finding meaning, working through feelings or inner conflicts, improving relationships with others or dealing with illness. As an expatriate you might be feeling down, or lost or might have difficulties in adjusting. You might wish to talk to someone in your own language.
Psychotherapy and counselling (which is more focused on specific situations and often limited to an agreed number of sessions) provide a safe, unbiased and supportive space in which outer and inner issues can meet and be looked at in depth.
It is a process of reflection, self-development and healing of present and past experience that allows you to face difficulties and to contemplate new possibilities. Old habitual ways of being, that might have their roots in hurt, anger or fear are looked at and worked through to create freedom and choice on the way forward.
It is also an opportunity to be listened to in a friendly, non-judgmental, safe environment, to explore yourself and your life situation and in hearing yourself speak to connect with your own insights.
